Sigulda Castle – Sigulda – Latvia

Sigulda Castle (also known as New Castle to distinguish it from the ruins of the medieval castle located right behind it) is a manor house built in the late 19th century as a private residence. It was reconstructued from 1935 to 1937 by several Latvian artists who worked on the interior. It was used as a sanatorium after World War II when Latvia was part of the USSR.
