Wat Rong Khun (white temple) – Chiang Rai – Thailand

The white temple Wat Rong Khun is a very unique and unconventional contemporary Buddhist temple near Chiang Rai in northern Thailand, designed by Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. Its construction began in 1997 and the complex which will consist of nine buildings is still under construction today. The white color of the temple represents Lord Buddha's purity.
